My name is Johan and this blog concerns philosophy, political theory, social criticism, history, religion and modern culture. While these topics may seem overly academic I try to make my writing as transparent and accessible as possible so that it can be interesting and accessible to both those who do not have a formal background in these topic and those who do.
My interest in these topics developed as I was studying political philosophy as an undergraduate and graduate student, and while my current occupation has little to do with these topics I still find myself deeply enthralled with all of them. In fact I would say I find myself called to continue learning and writing about these disciplines. I know that sounds pretentious, but it is the most honest way I can describe the situation.
